How to Lose Tummy Fat in the Office by Eating More Often

What do most male corporate workers over the age of 30 have in common?

Working in a busy corporate environment doesn’t always give us the luxury of time to have proper lunches. We sometimes eat on the go, eat at our desks as we work or we skip lunch altogether! I personally have a colleague who has her lunch as late as 3pm! (Not sure if you can still call that lunch, its more of a high tea by then). Apparently there was once when she was so engaged in her work that she totally forgotten about the lunch takeout that was on her table. Yikes!
While extreme meal habits like this do not happen often, eventually it all contributes to you growing the infamous corporate belly. Heres why:

  1. It is built to survive
  2. It treats fat as a treasured resource
When you deprive your body of energy (food), it goes into what we typically call, “survivor mode”. When we continually starve ourselves, our bodies are led to believe that there is an imminent famine. As a survival response, our metabolism slows and our bodies will start to store fat – the richest energy source – in preparation for the “famine” its about to face.
So in order to burn tummy fat and prevent fat storage, we should avoid putting our bodies in survival mode by eating every 3 hours. It doesn’t have to be buffet sized meals. Quite on the contrary, you just have to consume some healthy snacks in between meals to keep your body out of the survivor mode.
Here are a couple of in-office tips you can use:
  • Don’t skip lunch or have late lunches! You know you eventually have to eat when you are about to pass out in front of your monitor. So why not eat first? You’ll feel satiated and have more energy to be productive at work. More importantly, it will help you lose belly fat!
  • If you are someone who always forget to eat or always get invited to meetings at lunchtime, set a daily recurring meeting on your calendar. That way, your calendar will always be unavailable when someone wants to schedule a meeting at your lunchtime and you will always have a reminder to eat!
  • Can’t afford the time to go out and buy food every 3 hours? You don’t have to. Keep at your desk a jug of mixed nuts or some fruits. Grab a handful of those 3 hours after lunch and it will keep your metabolism up

This is perhaps the easiest tip to lose tummy fat you’ll ever get! But remember, keep the portion of each meal slightly less than what you normally eat and keep your body out of survivor mode. Your body will thank you by not making you buy a larger pair of pants all the time.
